CERN celebrates its 60th birthday
The European Organization for Nuclear Research, known as CERN is a European research organization whose purpose is to operate the world’s largest particle physics laboratory. Established in 1954, CERN celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. A series of historical, scientific, and technological colloquia are held at CERN.
Numerous experiments (including the discovery of the Higgs boson) have been constructed at CERN following international collaborations. It is also the birthplace of the World Wide Web.
