What is quantum chromodynamics?

Quantum chromodynamics deals with the strong nuclear force, thus it deals with quarks and gluons. Protons and neutrons aren’t actually indivisible particles of matter, they are in fact made up of quarks and held together by gluons. The proton consists of two up quarks and one down quark, the neutron consists of two down quarks and one up quark
