What are WIMPs? WIMPs are Weakly Interacting Massive Particles, and the description is in the name. First, WIMPs only interact with other matter through the weak force. Second, they have some sort of mass. The “massive particles” part does not refer to how large they are, it only refers to the fact that they have some mass. WIMPs are a prime candidate for the composition of Dark Matter; however, we do not know which of the WIMPs dark matter is composed of. It could be neutrinos or some currently undiscovered particle
